so the palisades high varsity were thrashed by west mecklenburg who had fielded 9 seniors against the young team in a shutout in week 1, but this week the pumas proved much more resilient against a squad fielding 23 seniors against them - still an overwhelming score but now we can see the progress

wonder if jarek the javelin's grand uncle jim phiffer ever played with steely dan - he's played with everyone else - jim was ceo of pearl drums u s when jimmy chamberlin mentions using a pearl snare on the recording of the smashing pumpkin's today
pittsfield, mass is only about 35 miles from bard college in avon on the hudson, ny where steely dan formed (chevy chase was their piano player) and one night i went into the club called 'the cellar' in pittsfield, around 1983 to 'drink till i get my fill' and jimmy was playing for the greg kihn band - he was amazing - if i recall it right he turned 'the breakup song' into a reggae solo ! i was stunned wonderful guitar player

'tho it was covered with shrubs and bushes and invisible when we ran cross country in the 1970s, our captain duncan mackenzie told us the first and third loops of the mt greylock r s cross country trail passes the opening of a cave just north west of phelps knoll - mcmasters cave, was once a tourist attraction out where oblong road meets woodcock road
but we never knew the cave extends all the way to the field farm and might have been why the williams kids during ww1 thought the german american professor stone hill bench is named for now was spying as he sat on a bench there on the hill, which used to be bare grazing pasture and had a clear view of the airstrip
an old map says the airport that was where the highschool is now, used to be on the west side of oblong road, near governor vanderbilt's farm
perchlorates are the residue of explosives and before the renovation, the mount greylock r h s water wells had high levels of perchlorates while the aquifer draining from the taconics passes under the area of the cave to get to the wells'
