wow!

former williams coach and a d  harry sheehy gave williams 17 national championships, but had to cut programs at dartmouth because of covid and he somehow cut the wrong ones or something, tho it looked like he cut an equal # of men's and women's programs...

but he wound up fouling out of title 9...

'Yet the decision to cut men’s lightweight crew, men’s and women’s golf, and the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs last summer — a decision that was reversed Jan. 29 — caused months of discontent.'

...

'The Big Green’s 2019-20 Equity in Athletics Data Analysis survey showed that Dartmouth would have needed to add 23 women athletes — the equivalent of two women’s golf teams or one women’s swim and dive program — to comply with Title IX with the cuts.'

tracy, angela and nancy were the first girls allowed to play little league in our home town in 1975 and our pitcher, tom, was so fast our two regular catchers refused to catch him so i had to

two of the girls were on williams co-op and our team was rotary and tom got his picture in sports illustrated 'faces in the crowd' that summer for pitching a perfect game against williams co-op but williams co-op wound up winning the league championship

- s i 'faces in the crowd' july 28th, 1975

for some reason, in another game against them, tom hit tracy, who was about 11, with his terrifying fastball and all of us held our breath

asked tracy if she was okay, she didnt reply, and i saw a tear start down her cheek, but then she just threw her bat back into the on deck circle and trotted off to first

tracy:

jeff was on tracy's team also

dave told me jeff and tracy went to the prom together our senior year when i had pitched a shut out against waconah causing coach randall to sit next to me on the bus ride home to tell me two pro scouts were in the stands to scout jeff, who had hit 3 home runs in the game

later, jeff told me he had been signed to a minor league team in florida but i lost track of his career from there until i saw this pic on his twitter which he doesnt talk about:

- andrew grew up in maine

jeff's son committed to rice university in texas as a hs senior last year while while playing for the christ school greenies, until rice's head coach left this winter

- so jeff's son played as a freshman for the unc charlotte '49ers this spring:

cher was hs friends with harry sheehy's sis sarah, and curiously, cher's grandson jarek trained at the unc workouts after becoming a first team pop warner scholar athlete  scholarship winner as an olympic, north carolina trojan high school sophomore jv qb last fall

hmm jarek just left the trojans at olympic high school to transfer to palisade high school
